One of my friends at school asked if I would like to create something for the silent auction coming up next week at the Habitat Ball. I have been wanting to try my hand at a good, old fashion collage for a while now, and this is what I came up with. This was fun-but they didn't turn out exactly like I wanted them to. Going to work a bit more on this process-
I hope they find a happy home!

A beautiful sunset
We have certainly been having some strange weather around here. It is the 23rd of January, and the temp was in the 60's. Bizarre! No wonder my head feels like a basketball. I am thinking that may also have been the reason the kids at school were horrible today. Lots of stuffy noses and grumpy attitudes. That was just the teachers! Lol...
Anyway, trying to get back to the blogging world, but need something crafty and blog worthy to post. For today, here is a picture of the gorgeous sunset from this afternoon. Took this with my iphone, and it really doesn't do the sky justice. Gorgeous. That is just all I have to say about that.
Gonna go get crafty, and if you are lucky, I will be back later.

I did it!!!
For some reason, I have had a block about learning to use the brand new sewing machine that has been in the closet for more years than I care to admit. But, yesterday, I broke that baby out and figured it out!
Try not to be too impressed-lol
If there is something you have been putting off- STOP! Carpe diem. :)

Well, it's over-
I don't really know how the time from before Christmas to now came and went so quickly. I guess it is true-the older you get the quicker time flies.
This year we started out doing a Made in America Christmas. That doesn't seem so hard, does it? Well, guess what...it is. Especially when you live in a town this size. I went to several shops hoping to spread my Christmas cheer, but as I picked up items, they said MADE IN CHINA. I was able to buy some wonderful things at a shop on the square called "Daddy's girls" and they are so great to work with. I had a pair of arm warmers made for Gabby, and bought some handmade things for my niece Mia. It became obvious that because I had procrastinated (who, ME?) we would need to shift to NOT MADE IN CHINA and share the wealth with some other countries. Honestly, I did pretty good. Better than I expected really. I only purchased 2 things that were made in China, and everything for my DH was made in the USA. This was his idea, after all.
I didn't get the chance to make all the things I wanted to. I really wonder how all these people in blogland do all they do. Good grief, I feel inadequate. Maybe if I was able to be at home I would get more done, who knows.
So, Happy New year everyone. Maybe next year I can get myself together and do a better job with the blog thing. And the etsy thing. And the life thing.

Time to get crafty for Christmas!
I love making ornaments for Christmas. To me, taking out these treasures year after year just makes the holiday complete. The kids know which ones belong to them, and they enjoy reminiscing as much as I do. I have a friend at school who has me make one for her step-daughter each year, and it is fun to figure out something different for her. This is this year's ornament:I forgot to take a pic of the back, but it has zebra stripes. Liz said she loved it, which makes all that time worth while!
